It is no longer impossible to treat Covid-19 thanks to scientists that work day and night. Treatment of severe Covid-19 infection by 2 drugs is a new discovery. A study of 7 trials done by the World Health Organization (WHO) on cases of non-severe, severe and critical covid-19 gives the world a hope to surviving this lethal pandemic. To begin with, the first drug is baricitinib. Barcitinib is an oral drug that belongs to Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor drugs class, it originally treats rheumatoid arthritis. Also, it works on inhibiting the immune extreme response to the infection, so giving it along with corticosteroids treats severe covid-19. In the same vein, the second drug is Sotrovimab. In fact, Sotrovimab is a monoclonal antibody drug, a substitution of casirivimab-imdevimab monoclonal antibody duo that was recommended in September 2021. WHO recommends these drugs to avoid hospitalization high-risk from mild or moderate covid-19.
The patients who are high-risk to hospitalization are:
•old people
•immunocompromised patients
•Patients having diabetes, obesity, or hypertension
•Unvaccinated patients
